About this file
The file is a comprehensive Request for Information (RFI) document for VA Project 519-17-800, a renovation of a police area at a Veterans Affairs facility. The solicitation is a 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set-aside under NAICS 236220, with an estimated procurement value between $2-5 million. The project involves renovating specific interior spaces, including an evidence room, installing ballistic-resistant walls (UL 752 Level 3), and making modifications to electrical, mechanical, and architectural elements.
Key technical details include installing a new 12-inch CMU ballistic-resistant wall, potential asbestos/lead paint abatement, fire suppression system modifications, and transitioning to Avigilon security products. The work will primarily occur during regular hours (0800-1630), with a laydown area available at the back of the facility. Contractors are not required to perform design work but will provide red-line as-built documentation. The project follows an ICRA Type D, Group 1 (Low Risk) classification, and the VA will manage any discovered hazardous materials through contract modifications.
