About this file

This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for replacing the seventh floor roof at a Veterans Affairs medical center. The amendment provides responses to contractor questions to clarify requirements for the project. Key details include that tapered insulation is required at expansion joints to prevent steps between existing and new roof areas. Access to the roof for workers will be through hospital stairwells only, with materials transported daily. Crane work for removal of materials must occur on weekends. Photographic documentation can be taken by the superintendent. The same roofing manufacturer as for recently renovated areas is specified to ensure compatibility.
