STATEMENT OF WORK

SPS Triple-Basin Reprocessing Sink Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System June 23, 2026

1. Purpose The purpose of this Statement of Work is to procure, deliver, install, test, and place into service one healthcare-grade triple-basin reprocessing sink for Sterile Processing Service. The sink will support the manual cleaning, rinsing, soaking, flushing, and preparation of reusable medical instruments and devices before they proceed to additional processing and sterilization steps.

2. Background Sterile Processing Service requires a triple-basin sink to support daily decontamination operations and proper dirty-to-clean workflow. A three-basin sink allows SPS staff to separate the cleaning process into dirty rinse, wash, and final rinse steps. The equipment must be durable, cleanable, ergonomic, and properly configured for healthcare reprocessing operations.

The current need is based on [aging equipment / inadequate basin size / workflow limitations / infection-control concerns / replacement of existing sink / new SPS space]. The replacement or new installation will improve staff efficiency, support infection prevention, reduce ergonomic strain, and help SPS staff comply with manufacturer instructions for use and applicable reprocessing requirements.

3. Scope of Work The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, tools, transportation, delivery, installation, testing, documentation, and training necessary to furnish and install one SPS triple-basin reprocessing sink.

Work shall include, but is not limited to:

• Conducting a site visit and field measurements before ordering equipment.

• Providing the triple-basin reprocessing sink and all required accessories, components, and installation hardware.

• Removing and disposing of the existing sink or related equipment, if required by the facility.

• Installing the new sink and connecting required utilities, including hot water, cold water, drain lines, treated water, electrical connections, and other approved connections as applicable.

• Coordinating with SPS, Engineering, Infection Prevention, Safety, Logistics, and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).

• Testing the sink for leaks, drainage, water flow, temperature, height adjustment, electrical function, and overall operational readiness.

• Cleaning the work area and removing all debris, packaging, and unused materials.

• Providing basic user training for SPS staff and designated VA personnel.

• Providing warranty, maintenance, service, and product documentation.

4. Applicable Standards and References The contractor shall comply with applicable federal, VA, local, and industry requirements.

Requirements may include, but are not limited to:

• Applicable VA sterile processing, infection prevention, safety, engineering, and facility requirements.

• Applicable ANSI/AAMI guidance for sterile processing, decontamination, instrument cleaning, and reprocessing workflow.
