The work includes cutting wall openings, installing 2" isolation valves, reinsulating piping, performing air monitoring, and completing wall repairs and painting.

The project has a two-phase performance period: a 60-day preconstruction period for submittals and approvals, followed by a 90-calendar day construction period. The contractor must be licensed in Louisiana for asbestos air monitoring, comply with OSHA and VA safety requirements, and submit six key plans for review, including a Construction Schedule, Asbestos Abatement Plan, Safety Plan, Infection Control Plan, Air Monitoring Plan, and QA/QC Plan. All work must be performed after hours or on weekends to minimize disruption to hospital operations, with careful coordination required to ensure uninterrupted access to adjacent areas during business hours.
