About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the VA's Mixing Valves for Anti-Scald project at two VA Medical Centers (JLM and EJT) in Arkansas, solicitation number 36C25625R0095. The project involves replacing mixing valves for various plumbing fixtures, with an estimated award date of 9/30/25 and project start within 30 days of award. Key requirements include installing new thermostatic mixing valves, potentially accessing existing infrastructure, and coordinating work across multiple hospital areas while minimizing facility disruption.

Critical project details include working in both hospitals simultaneously with separate superintendents, performing work potentially after hours between 7:00 PM and 5:00 AM, and adhering to Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) protocols. The VA will allow work 7 days a week with water outages limited to 4 hours and requiring 21-30 days notification. Contractors must use iron pipe connections, cannot use press fittings, and will be responsible for matching existing finishes and coordinating with the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for scheduling and site access. The bid hold period has been reduced to 60 days, and Procore software is approved for project management.
