About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for the Building 55 Accessibility Ramp project (667-24-255) with an RFP closing date of 04-25-2025. The RFI contains four questions and answers addressing project-specific details, including topographical survey information, geotechnical reporting, and personnel role requirements. Key clarifications include that the owner will provide limited topography/grading information which the contractor must verify, no geotechnical report will be provided, and the VA specifically requires dedicated personnel for Site Supervisor, Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), and Quality Control Manager (QCM) positions, prohibiting dual role assignments due to issues in previous contracts.

667-24-255 Bldg. 55 Accessibility Ramp RFI’s RFP closes on 04-25-2025

Q1: Will the owner provide a topographic survey for the existing grading and ramp elevations. This is typically provided by the owner prior to a design.

A1: Attached you will find the only topography/grading information that we have for this area.

Contractor will have to verify accuracy.

Q2: Proposal RFI #2 – Will there be a geotech report by the owner. This may not be needed, being a ramp, but it would be good to know the soil composition and if it's very expansive soil. This is also typically provided by the owner.

A2: No, not deemed necessary.

Q3 –

Will the Site Supervisor be allowed to hold dual roles as SSHO and/or QCM?

A3: No, due to issues with previous contracts where contractors held multiple positions, the VA requires dedicated personnel for each individual positions.

Q4 - will the SSHO act as QCM?

A4: No, see A3.
