FINAL SET OF RFI RESPONSES
Please provide clarity to the description of Amendment 4, shown in the snip below:
Specification Section 010000, 1.5. Construction Security Requirements, C.1. Guards shown in the bottom snip below says to provide unarmed guard at project site 24 hours per day / 7 days per week after construction hours. This is a large expense to the overall project and the description suggests the guard may not be required.
Please disregard this requirement. It is intended for areas like intercity Chicago.
Please confirm if this is required (or not) to be included with the bid due Monday, 9-13-21 at 11am. If required, please clarify the number of full-time guards required as the specification shows “provide unarmed guards” as plural and there are 3 floors in the existing building.
Please disregard this requirement. It is intended for areas like intercity Chicago.
The new Nurse call specifications do not talk about the Wander Guard system.
This is correct. The “Roam Alert” (Stanley Trademark) system is a standalone system. When the elevator doors open and there is a patient tag in the active field, the elevator locks open and alarms until the tag is no longer seen.
The elevator specifications talk about it but not in division 26, 27, or 28. How does the elevator get tied into the existing roam alert system?
There is a Roam Alert controller that is either mounted on the elevator car or on wall of the unit (2nd or 3rd floor) being protected Exciter antenna are mounted either in the car or in the areas directly in front of the elevators (pros and cons to both methods). The elevator controller is tied into the Roam Alert through relays that are triggered when the controller goes into alarm.
Who installs the roam alert system in the elevator?
The contractor. Stanley Healthcare can also be contracted to install the system.
Does the Roam alert system tie into the Nurse call system?
No, see question #1
Who provides the commissioning of the Roam alert system?
The contractor would guarantee that the installation would meet manufacturer specs, such as: antenna location and orientation, field of coverage, lack of RF interference, etc. Electronics Dept. or factory trained Engineering Tech would verify proper operation. As Builts should be given to Electronics Dept.
