19 Specification Section 21 13 13 Wet

Pipe Sprinkler Systems / 1.1 / B calls for portions of building 404 to have entire Attic Space and partial head relocation / replacement in the

Mechanical Basement Room. Provide the following:

a. Existing / as-built building 404 sprinkler drawings

b. Existing building 404 hydraulic calculations – information.

c. Confirm the there is sufficient water pressure to add the areas of entire Attic Space and partial head relocation / replacement in the

Mechanical Basement Room to the existing system without the addition of a fire pump

PLEASE OMIT – NOT

PART OF SCOPE.

4/13/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

20 The specifications appear to have an unaltered Division 23 09 specification. Is any Division 23 09

(DDC) work required on this project?

SPECIFICATION

SECTION WILL BE

REDUCED

4/9/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

21 If so, the specification mentions new

ECC among other things, but it also mentions connection to the existing system. Is a new system desired for this project or would just utilizing the existing Metasys system be acceptable?

SPECIFICATION

SECTION WILL BE

REDUCED

4/9/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

22 Does the temporary PC piping need to be insulated? If so, with what?

TEMPORARY PC IS NEW

PIPING AND WILL

REQUIRE INSULATION

PER SPECIFICATION

230711.

4/8/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

23 Will the direct buried pipe come pre-insulated?

YES, PER

SPECIFICATION 336300

4/8/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

24 I read the specs as the only pipe considered to be in an exterior location would be the piping under the sidewalk. The only insulation specified for this is polyisocyanurate which lists a thickness up to 1-1/4" pipe. What thickness would you like on piping larger than 1-1/4"?

POLYISOCYANURATE

INSULATION IS

LIMITED TO EXTERIOR

USE AND THAT SIZE.

OTHER MATERIALS

LISTED IN THE TABLE

CAN BE USED EITHER

FOR ABOVE GROUND

OR BELOW GROUND AS

NOTED WITH THE

PROPER JACKETING

MATERIAL.

4/8/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

25 Is the insulation on the piping located under the sidewalk the only insulation to get an additional jacket on it (other than ASJ)?

PIPING HAS AN

EXTERIOR JACKET AS

PART OF THE

ASSEMBLY

4/8/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

26 Does 3rd Street have to be passable at all times, day/night for emergency vehicles and for personnel during construction process? At the site visit there was a comment that it would be opened but the plan indicates otherwise.

YES. 100% OF THE

TIME. YOU MAY HAVE

ROAD WIDTH

REDUCED WITH

SIGNALMEN ON

EITHER SIDE DURING

WORK AT THE ROAD

LOCATION. NOTE THAT

AT ALL TIMES THE

ROAD MUST HAVE

ENOUGH WIDTH AND

4/14/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

27 B424-Cafeteria has dumpsters located on the East side of the building during the construction process. This area will not be accessible for refuse disposal. Can the dumpster be relocated to an accessible location for their accessibility for refuse disposal pickup?

KITCHEN AREA AND

MUST MAINTAIN

ACCESS TO

DUMPSTERS. GC TO

COORDINATE WORK /

REFUSE SCHEDULE AS

NOT TO IMPEED

KITCHEN STAFF.

28 Many of the existing concrete removable covers are severely damaged. Should replacement be included in the cost? If so, the concrete covers that are not exposed due to being covered by asphalt and or dirt and gravel be added as unforeseen if damaged or should a specific dollar value allowance be included?

YES. REUSE AS

POSSIBLE, REPLACE AS

REQUIRED.

4/14/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

29 Building 424 to 452:

The drawing (CO11) of the pipe trench is referring to detail 7/502.

This indicates a new concrete pipe trench. If this is correct, there are (2) vaults located outside of B424 and the steam supply and return appear to split the two vaults. There is not (5) feet between the two vaults for a new concrete pipe trench, or does the new concrete pipe trench only go from curb to curb and then the line is to be direct buried before and after the curbs?

NEW VAULT TO BE

REDUCED IN SIZE TO

BE LOCATED BETWEEN

EXISTING ELECTRICAL

VAULTS

4/14/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

30 Parking access by some of the tramway hatches is going to be necessary for demolition and replacement of the steam return lines.

Will parking be allowed to cone off up to (4) parking stalls at these locations, to perform work necessary to complete the job?

YES. SUBMIT PLAN

PROPOSALS

4/14/2020 COR/CO

31 Can the construction wash out area be relocated to the other side of the work area, next to the parking area of

B415? There are vaults beneath the area designated on the plans.

PROVIDE PROPOSED

PLAN ON 8 ½ x 11.

4/14/2020 COR/AE Amendment #0005

37 The steam tunnel from B415 to B403, where it enters B403 is under the front entrance of the building. The concrete sidewalk at this location does not appear removable. The site-specific plan calls for this location to determine if the area would have to be replaced, or if there is enough room under the walk area to access the site, to perform work without demolition of the walkway.
