About this file

This document includes a specification section for commissioning plumbing systems on a project to increase mental health beds at a Veterans Affairs medical center, as well as a pre-solicitation notice for the related federal contract opportunity.

The specification section provides requirements for commissioning plumbing systems and subsystems as part of the construction process to increase mental health beds at the VA Ann Arbor Medical Center in Michigan. It outlines responsibilities for contractor testing, inspections, and completion of checklists, as well as requirements for systems functional performance testing and training of VA operations and maintenance personnel.

The pre-solicitation notice indicates the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to solicit bids for the project, with an invitation for bid planned for issuance on or around May 30, 2022. The purpose is to renovate inpatient and outpatient mental health units at the site. Work includes demolition, installation, and commissioning to provide a complete and usable mental health unit. The acquisition is designated as a 100% set-aside for qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses. The solicitation and bid documents will be available through the System for Award Management website starting around the planned issuance date.
