Pre-Bid RFI Responses Question Response

1 Will there be any other opportunities, or can a site visit be arranged to view the existing conditions? This request cannot be accomodated.

2 Can you clarify if the contractor is to provide the network switches and wireless access points and if so what manufacturer? Section 272129 says to provide Aruba S1500 Switches and Aruba 300 series APs but there is a redacted spec for only Cisco to be provided. In the past at the VA only the public system was Aruba and the VA system was cisco. The Dayton VA also provided all their own APs. If we are to provide Cisco can a specification for those be provided?

Network switches are to serve the security network with sufficient ports to support all IP cameras and door controllers.

These switches are separate from the VA's hospital network (which is Cisco). No wireless access points are required in this project.

3 Due to the instability in our current economy with price escalations and procurement issues, please change the contract type to a Fixed-Price with Economic Price Adjustment pursuant to FAR 16.203. This is a Firm Fixed-Price Contract.

4 For Temperature Controls, it is believed DVAMC still utilizes a campus-wide Tridium AX system. Is this still the case? The Tridium AX system is still in use at the DVAMC.

5 For Temperature Controls, it should be stated that Tridium AX controllers are no longer available for purchase from Tridium as they have been discontinued. Will Tridium N4 JACE controllers be acceptable for this project? Contractor to coordinate with VA

6 For Temperature Controls, if providing Tridium N4 JACE controllers is acceptable, what will be the tie-in requirements for these controllers to the campus-wide BAS?

We cannot tie-in N4 controllers to the existing Tridium AX BAS as the controllers are not backwards compatible. Contractor to coordinate with VA

For Temperature Controls, please upload a photograph or schematic of the existing temperature control panel for the area where the renovation will take place. Contractor to coordinate with VA

For Temperature Controls, will it be permissible to reuse the existing control panel? If so, will DVAMC make available the Platform log-in credentials for that controller(s)? Contractor to coordinate with VA

9 Please confirm that the method of delivery for this solicitation is a hand carry to:

Department of Veterans Affairs VHA Regional Procurement Office Central Network Contracting Office 10 3140 Governor’s Place Blvd. Suite 210 Kettering OH 45409-1337

Additionally, will there be an in-person public bid opening for this solicitation?

The in person bid opening will be conducted at the Network Contracting Office 10, 3140 Governors Place Blvd, Kettering, OH 45409. Follow the Bid Opening instructions that were posted to Contract Opportunities on 7-14-2022.
