About this file
This document provides an amendment to an invitation for bid for a correct water infiltration project at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Indiana. The amendment includes clarifications to drawings and specifications. Specifically, it modifies notes on several drawings to clarify that new box gutters will be installed only at existing wood cornice locations on Buildings 15-17 to match existing, rather than at dormers which will retain existing aluminum gutters. The amendment renames details on drawings AE501 and AE502 for improved clarity. No other changes are made to specifications. The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number 36C25022B0009 to provide all labor, materials, tools, and equipment necessary to complete the Correct Water Infiltration project numbered 610-20-102 at the specified VA Medical Center location according to the drawings, specifications, and statement of work. The contracting agency is the Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration Veterans Integrated Service Network 10.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
RFI #1 Question:
a) There is a note on multiple drawings calling out to install new metal cornice profile and associated blocking and states to see details AE501 and AE502.
Detail 6 shows the new aluminum gutter detail and then detail 7 AE501 shows a box gutter detail at wood cornice and states “Cornice shall be rebuilt to match existing construction”. Though the drawings do not indicate at all WHERE this wood cornice exists vs the metal cornice. There is no way to get an accurate quantity of each type of cornice. Can you please clarify and show on the drawings where each type of cornice exists.
Answer: Please see the following breakdown of cornices:
Buildings 1-6: Aluminum cornice profile – See detail 6/AE501 Buildings 15-17: Wood cornice – See detail 4/AE501 Building 124: Stone cornice – See detail 6/AE502 See revised Drawings in this Amendment for clarification. New box gutters will only be installed at existing locations – Dormers will not have new box gutters; existing aluminum K-style gutters will be existing to remain (per detail 5/AE501).
