About this file

This document contains a request for information and related federal contract opportunity announcement. The request for information seeks clarification on acrylic and laminated resin panel requirements for a renovation project to update patient privacy areas at a Department of Veterans Affairs medical center in Battle Creek, Michigan. Responders are asked to identify the relevant specification or drawing sections for any questions. The federal contract opportunity is a pre-solicitation notice for the renovation of a mental health clinic at the same VA medical center. The solicitation will be issued on November 30th for a 100% service-disabled veteran-owned small business set-aside project with an estimated value between $1-2 million. The selected contractor will complete interior renovations within 280 days of award for a firm fixed-price contract.

Tsmith Text Box A question has been asked about the acrylic panels and laminated resin panels. The question is about clarification as to what actually is the material requirement as these materials are very specialized as to patterns and colors. Can you provide direction?

Also, we request a bid extension to allow for more questions from subs given the time of year it is and the work load of all those involved.

VHABACTuckB Typewritten Text After reviewing the RFI the AE is unable to provide additional clarification as the RFI is not specific enough.

The RFI period has closed but in an effort to resolve this query for your firm, you can refine your question.

The AE provided specifications on both those items, which covers the characteristics required on the products. The acrylic resin panel is also called out in the finish schedule.

If you need additional clarification on the RFI you initially sent (i.e. RFI 1), then you have until today, 3:00pm Eastern, to refine and provide the RFI to the VA. If not, then the answer found herein will constitute your response to the RFI and you can check Contract Opportunities for solicitation amendments.
