A&B?

There can be a single controller or multiple at each WQMS as required to make the system work and report the required information to the Owner. The vendors are encouraged to submit optimal configurations based on their equipment.

41 RF1 1 5 Section 1.4.A.16 -19 refers to DO and BOB. These are generally wastewater parameters and not of use for Drinking water. Are these required? There are also other items in this section that relate to wastewater and sludge. I would seem this section may have been intended to be omitted.

This information is not required.

42 RF1 1 6 Section 1.4.D.3.C calls for SCADA/LIMS interface installation. Does the facility have such a system? These are normally exclusive to municipal drinking water plants

System must interface with the campus Building Automation System (BAS) which is manufactured by Schneider.

43 RF1 1 7. What disinfectant is in the source water supplied to the facility by the PWS? This will determine whether free or total chlorine should be monitored.

Fort Wayne utilities uses free chlorine.

44 RF1 1 8. As noted above, many of the listed specifications within Section 22 67 23 are not related to drinking water or to communication with the BMS. Are those which are not related still to be provided?

They are not required. Only information related to domestic cold and hot water being transmitted to the owner through the BMS is required.

45 M2 1.Item 1.1-C.2 states the controller shall provide a RS485 Modbus digital output. This is an old-style communication cable that the industry in moving away from. Is using ethernet cable acceptable?

Yes, an ethernet cable is acceptable.

46 M2 2.Item 1.3-B.6 states product must currently be installed at more than 300 u li es. This seems unreasonable. My supplier doesn’t know of any company that meets this requirement. Is this amount of installations required?

Established vendors engaged in providing water quality measuring equipment are required. A recommendation of 3 years minimum experience and 10 installed projects for the vendor.

47 M2 3.Item 1.3-B.7 states product must have been available commercially for preceding 5 years. The technology that is requested wasn’t available 5 years ago. Is this still required?

Basis of design equipment meets this requirement. Equal or better technology is acceptable.

48 M2 4.Item 1.4-C.2 states to provide interface to automa cally import reports from Lab Informa on Management System (LIMS). Is this a data dump or how is the information to be transferred?

LIMS is not required. System must interface with the campus Building Automation System (BAS) which is manufactured by Schneider.
