| 1 | (1A) Can the Site Superintendent also complete the duties of the CQC manager position, so long as they are adequately qualified and can fulfill the duties of both positions as outlined in the project documents? | Spec Section 014500 - Under 3.4B. – “The CQC System Manger is assigned as CQC System Manager but has duties as project superintendent in addition to quality control. | |
| (2A) Please confirm if the Project Superintendent can also serve as the full time Site Safety and Health Officer. The Quality Control specification already states that the CQC system manager also serves as the Project Superintendent so they would essentially be able to fulfill all 3 duties. Please confirm this is acceptable | Spec Section 014500 - In paragraph 3.4A., “The Safety and Health Manager shall satisfy the requirements of Specification 01 35 26 Safety Requirements and reports directly to a senior project (or corporate) official independent from the CQC System Manager.” The Safety and Health Manager is a separate individual from the CQC System Manager/Project Superintendent. | ||
| (1C) Specification 01 35 26: Can the site superintendent be “duel hatted” as the SSHO? | No. |
Spec Section 013526 - The site superintendent and safety and health manager shall be separate individuals (1D) 2. Can the required SSHO positions be fulfilled by the qualified superintendent? No.
Spec Section 013526 - From 1.7A. - The Prime Contractor shall designate a minimum of one SSHO at each project site that will be identified as the SSHO to administer the Contractor's safety program and government-accepted Accident Prevention Plan. The training requirements for the SSHO are different than those for a superintendent.
| 2 | (2A) Drawing Sheet AE106, Key Note 1, states that the defined area should be re-roofed/repaired to maintain existing factory warranty. Please confirm, does this area currently have an active warranty? | (2A) Yes |
| (2B) If so, who is the manufacturer and installer who holds the existing warranty? | (2B) Carlisle Syntec Systems | |
| 3 | Will all work operations (other than those creating excessive noise/vibration and required outages) be allowed to be completed during normal business hours? | Spec Section 010000 - Under 1.6F. Reads Normal hours of work are 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. However the referenced Spec contained a typo and for Clarification purposes normal working hours are actually 7:00AM-4:30PM Monday - Firday. Off-hour work including evenings or weekends will be required for crane lifts, and work which transmits noise or vibrations through the building structure. |
| 4 | There is a conflict between the bid schedules in the project documents. The Solicitation document (page 5) shows just a base bid and the Project Specifications, Section 01 00 00 (Pages 1-2), state there is an Alternate No. 1 for Removing AHU-ENDO and all associated work. Please confirm, which of these should be followed for this bid submission? | Typo Corrected, there is only one Bid Alternate for this project. |
| 5 | Where will contractor laydown / storage areas be permitted? | Spec Section 010000 - Under 1.6D. Working space and space available for storing materials shall be as determined by the COR. | 8 | Notes on the Fire Protection Drawings refer to the need for both flow tests and hydraulic calcs and new shop drawings being provided. This seems unnecessary if the scope of work is limited to replacing heads that are damaged during new work as laid out in the Sheet Keynotes. Please confirm, is the intent solely to replace damaged heads and nothing further? If so, can the flow test and hydraulic calcs / shop drawings requirement be removed? | The Contractor's Fire Protection Personnel shall determine based on the actual layout of the sprinkler piping system and heads necessary to provide required coverage conclude additional heads are required as a result of new work, then flow tests and hydraulic calculations are required. In the event no additional heads are required based on the sprinkler subcontractors analysis and only existing heads are repositioned and/or damaged heads are replaced, then the flow tests and hydraulic calculations are not required. |
| 9 | Spec 01 00 00 - 1.19 indicates that the Contractor cannot use existing elevators and that an outside type hoist shall be used for transporting materials and equipment.
