Renovate PACU | Project 558-17-150 Questions from Industry

Q: On drawing IN101 the schedule calls for WSF-2 resilient sheet flooring on the drawing it shows WSF-3?

A: Provide WSF-2.

Q: Is there a project duration, the only thing that I have seen is to put the project duration into the schedule. I have not been able to locate liquidated damages, are there any LDs?

A: Contractor shall have 245 day to complete the project.

Q: Are the existing flab conditions (floors) leveling part of the scope of work for the contractor?

A: No, leveling the existing slab is not within the scope of work.

Q: Is the replacement of all ceiling tiles within the existing PACU and where the PACU will be extended into also part of the scope of work for the contractor?

A: The entire project area requires new acoustical ceiling tiles, as shown on Drawing Sheet A-

201 and indicated on Drawings Sheet IN-101.

Q: Will all vertical Patient Bed Service Walls be similar in requirements, or will certain walls have more or less equipment connected and installed than others?

A: All Patient Bed Service Walls are similar, reference detail 3 of drawing sheet A301.

Q: For existing HVAC work, will there be an attachment released with the details of current

HVAC providers and the equipment specifications?

A: No. HVAC equipment specifications are included within Division 23 Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning.

Q: Will equal manufacturers be accepted for the Ceiling Mounted Patient Lift Systems A1200X and A1200Y?

A: Durham VA utilizes standardized ceiling lifts, Horchers by Barrier Free. Continuity in the use of barrier Free lifts is imperative to ensuring Veterans and employees safely use and train on familiar equipment.

Q: Would it be possible to get a revised version of page PL401 (63 of 78). It is difficult to distinguish the pipe locations of some of the medical gases…medical air specifically?

A: Enlarge the .pdf files to clearly see the pipe locations. If this does not work please contact the

Contracting Officer.

Q: Is the intent to have all net new locating devices and infrastructure as part of this proposal?

A: Nurse Locator Interface requirements are in specification section 27 52 23, paragraph 2.3.C.3.

Q: Is the intent to have all new nurse call devices and infrastructure as part of this proposal.

A: Yes, the project requires all new nurse call devices and infrastructure.

Q: What special consideration(s) is/are given to the incumbent nurse call vendor/distributor currently installed in this area?

A: No special considerations are given to the nurse call system currently installed in the area.

Per specification Section 27 52 23 Nurse Call and Code Blue Systems, this is an entirely new system.

Q: Will the Government supply the AutoCAD DWG drawings?

A: AutoCAD drawings will be provided upon award.

Q: Will the Government supply the existing access control and CCTV system manufacturer information?

A: Keyed note #4 on telecom drawing TY101 indicates the existing access control system is S2

Security (Lenel). The telecom drawings do not reference CCTV.

Q: Will the Government supply the existing Durham VAMC security incumbent?

A: Sonitrol Security Systems of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Q: Will the Government supply the information pertaining to the phasing of the project and how it relates to the access control and CCTV systems respectively?

A: Phasing is shown on drawing sheet G-100. Access control systems shall be completely installed and fully functional when each individual phase is complete and turned over the VA.

The drawings do not show any CCTV requirements.

Q: Is there a Bid Item II (Deduct Alternate 1) and Bid Item III (deduct Alternate2)?

A: There are no bid deducts.

Q: On drawing IN101 the schedule calls for WSF-2 resilient sheet flooring on the drawing it shows WSF-3?

A: Provide WSF-2 resilient sheet flooring.

Q: Is there a basis of design for the Patient bed service wall. This looked to be pre-fabricated?

A: No, Contractor will follow specifications and submit accordingly.
