• The vast majority of these submittals will all be combined into a single submittal per the specification section.

• There should be a submittal for each specification section in Div 26 and not individual submission for each line item.

Spec Section 26 05 11 Requirements for Electrical Installations 1.12A Submit to the COR in accordance with Section

01 33 23, SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA, AND

SAMPLES.

1.12B The Government's approval shall be obtained for all materials and equipment before delivery to the job site. Delivery, storage or installation of materials and equipment which has not had prior approval will not be permitted.

1.12C All submittals shall include six copies of adequate descriptive literature, catalog cuts, shop drawings, test reports, certifications, samples, and other data necessary for the Government to ascertain that the proposed materials and equipment comply with drawing and specification requirements. Catalog cuts submitted for approval shall be legible and clearly identify specific materials and equipment being submitted.

1.12D Submittals for individual systems and equipment assemblies which consist of more than one item or component shall be made for the system or assembly as a whole. Partial submittals will not be considered for approval.

1.12D.1 Mark the submittals, "SUBMITTED UNDER

SECTION__________________".

1.12D.2 Submittals shall be marked to show specification reference including the section and paragraph numbers.

1.12D.3 Submit each section separately.

1.12E The submittals shall include the following:

1.12E.1 Information that confirms compliance with contract requirements. Include the manufacturer's name, model or catalog numbers, catalog information, technical data sheets, shop drawings, manuals, pictures, nameplate data, and test reports as required.

1.12E.2 Elementary and interconnection wiring diagrams for communication and signal systems, control systems, and equipment assemblies. All terminal points and wiring shall be identified on wiring diagrams.

1.12E.3 Parts list which shall include information for replacement parts and ordering instructions, as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.

1.12F Maintenance and Operation Manuals:

1.12F.1 Submit as required for systems and equipment specified in the technical sections. Furnish in hardcover binders or an approved equivalent.

1.12F.2 Inscribe the following identification on the cover: the words "MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION MANUAL," the name and location of the system, material, equipment, building, name of Contractor, and contract name and number.

Include in the manual the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of each subcontractor installing the system or equipment and the local representatives for the material or equipment.

1.12F.3 Provide a table of contents and assemble the manual to conform to the table of contents, with tab sheets placed before instructions covering the subject. The instructions shall be legible and easily read, with large sheets of drawings folded in.

1.12F.4 The manuals shall include:

1.12F.4a Internal and interconnecting wiring and control diagrams with data to explain detailed operation and control of the equipment.

1.12F.4b A control sequence describing start-up, operation, and shutdown.

1.12F.4c Description of the function of each principal item of equipment.

1.12F.4d Installation instructions.

1.12F.4e Safety precautions for operation and maintenance.

1.12F.4f Diagrams and illustrations.

1.12F.4g Periodic maintenance and testing procedures and frequencies, including replacement parts numbers.

1.12F.4h Performance data.

1.12F.4i Pictorial "exploded" parts list with part numbers. Emphasis shall be placed on the use of special tools and instruments. The list shall indicate sources of supply, recommended spare and replacement parts, and name of servicing organization.

1.12F.4j List of factory approved or qualified permanent servicing organizations for equipment repair and periodic testing and maintenance, including addresses and factory certification qualifications.

1.12G Approvals will be based on complete submission of shop drawings, manuals, test reports, certifications, and samples as applicable.

Spec Section 26 05 13 Medium-Voltage Cables 1.5A Submit in accordance with Paragraph, SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS, and the following requirements:

1.5A.1 Shop Drawings:

1.5A.1a Submit sufficient information to demonstrate compliance with drawings and specifications.

1.5A.1b Submit the following data for approval:

1.5A.1b.1 Complete electrical ratings.

1.5A.1b.2 Installation instructions.

1.5A.2 Samples:

1.5A.2a After approval of submittal and prior to installation, Contractor shall furnish sample in accordance with Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS.

1.5A.3 Certifications:

1.5A.3a Factory Test Reports: Submit certified factory production test reports for approval.

1.5A.3b Field Test Reports: Submit field test reports for approval.

1.5A.3c Compatibility: Submit a certificate from the cable manufacturer that the splices and terminations are approved for use with the cable.

1.5A.3d Two weeks prior to final inspection, submit the following.

1.5A.3d.1 Certification by the manufacturer that the cables, splices, and terminations conform to the requirements of the drawings and specifications.

1.5A.3d.2 Certification by the Contractor that the cables, splices, and terminations have been properly installed and tested.

1.5A.3d.3 Certification by the Contractor that each splice and each termination were completely installed in a single continuous work period by a single qualified worker without any overnight interruption.

1.5A.4 Qualified Worker Approval:

1.5A.4a Qualified workers who install cables, splices, and terminations shall have a minimum of five years of experience splicing and terminating cables, including experience with the materials in the approved splices and terminations. Qualified workers who perform cable testing shall have a minimum of five year of experience performing electrical testing of medium-voltage cables, including the ability to understand, interpret test results and develop test report.

1.5A.4b Furnish satisfactory proof of such experience for each qualified worker who splices or terminates the cables.

Spec Section 26 05 19 Low-Voltage Electrical Power Conductors and Cables 1.4A Submit in accordance with Paragraph, SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.4A.1 Shop Drawings:

1.4A.1a Submit sufficient information to demonstrate

1.4A.1b Submit the following data for approval:

1.4A.1b.1 Electrical ratings and insulation type for each conductor and cable.

1.4A.1b.2 Splicing materials and pulling lubricant.

1.4A.2 Certifications: Two weeks prior to final inspection, submit the following:

1.4A.2a Certification by the manufacturer that the conductors and cables conform to the requirements of the drawings and

1.4A.2b Certification by the Contractor that the conductors and cables have been properly installed, adjusted, and tested.

Spec Section 26 05 26 Grounding and Bonding for Electrical Systems

SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.4A.1a Submit sufficient information to demonstrate

1.4A.1b Submit plans showing the location of system grounding electrodes and connections, and the routing of aboveground and underground grounding electrode conductors.

1.4A.2 Test Reports:

1.4A.2a Two weeks prior to the final inspection, submit ground resistance field test reports to the COR.

1.4A.3 Certifications:

1.4A.3a Certification by the Contractor that the grounding equipment has been properly installed and tested.

Spec Section 26 05 33 Raceway and Boxes for Electrical Systems

SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.4A.1a Size and location of main feeders.

1.4A.1b Size and location of panels and pull-boxes.

1.4A.1c Layout of required conduit penetrations through structural elements.

1.4A.1d Submit the following data for approval:

1.4A.1d.1 Raceway types and sizes.

1.4A.1d.2 Conduit bodies, connectors, and fittings.

1.4A.1d.3 Junction and pull boxes, types, and sizes.

1.4A.2 Certifications: Two weeks prior to final

1.4A.2a Certification by the manufacturer that raceways, conduits, conduit bodies, connectors, fittings, junction and pull boxes, and all related equipment conform to the requirements of the drawings and

1.4A.2b Certification by the Contractor that raceways, conduits, conduit bodies, connectors, fittings, junction and pull boxes, and all related equipment have been properly installed.

Spec Section 26 05 73 Overcurrent Protective Device Coordination Study

SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.4A.1 Product data on the software program to be used for the study. Software shall be in mainstream use in the industry, shall provide device settings and ratings, and shall show selective coordination by time-current drawings.

1.4A.2 Complete study as described in paragraph

1.6. Submittal of the study shall be well-

coordinated with submittals of the shop drawings for equipment in related specification sections.

1.4A.3 Certifications: Two weeks prior to final inspection, submit the following.

1.4A.3a Certification by the Contractor that the overcurrent protective devices have been set in accordance with the approved study.

Spec Section 26 11 16 Secondary Unit Substations

SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.5A.1a Submit sufficient information to demonstrate

1.5A.1b Prior to fabrication of substations, submit the following data for approval:

1.5A.1b.1 Complete electrical ratings, including primary and secondary voltage, decibel rating, temperature rise, nominal impedance, voltage regulation, and no load and full load losses.

1.5A.1b.2 Nameplate data.

1.5A.1b.3 Elementary and interconnection wiring diagrams.

1.5A.1b.4 Technical data for each component.

1.5A.1b.5 Dimensioned exterior views of the substations.

1.5A.1b.6 Dimensioned section views of the substations.

1.5A.1b.7 Floor plan for the substations.

1.5A.1b.8 Foundation plan for the substations.

1.5A.1b.9 Provisions and required locations for external conduit and wiring entrances.

1.5A.1b.10 Approximate design weights.

1.5A.2 Manuals:

1.5A.2a Submit, simultaneously with the shop drawings, complete maintenance and operating manuals, including technical data sheets, wiring diagrams, and information for ordering replacement parts.

1.5A.2a.1 Include three-line diagrams showing device terminal numbers.

1.5A.2a.2 Include schematic signal and control diagrams, with all terminals identified, matching terminal identification in the substation.

1.5A.2a.3 Include information for testing, repair, troubleshooting, assembly, and disassembly.

1.5A.2b If changes have been made to the maintenance and operating manuals originally submitted, submit updated maintenance and operating manuals two weeks prior to the final inspection.

1.5A.3 Test Reports:

1.5A.3a Submit certified factory design and production test reports for approval.

1.5A.3b Two weeks prior to the final inspection, submit the following:

1.5A.4 Certifications: Two weeks prior to final

1.5A.4a Certification by the manufacturer that substations conform to the requirements of the drawings and specifications.

1.5A.4b Certification by the Contractor that substations have been properly installed, adjusted, and tested.

Spec Section 26 23 00 Low-Voltage Switchgear

SUBMITTALS in Section 26 05 11, REQUIREMENTS

1.5A.1a Switchgear shop drawings shall be submitted simultaneously with or after the Overcurrent Protective Device Coordination Study.

1.5A.1b Submit sufficient information to demonstrate

1.5A.1c Prior to fabrication of switchgear, submit the following data for approval:

1.5A.1c.1 Complete electrical ratings.

1.5A.1c.2 Circuit breaker sizes.

1.5A.1c.3 Interrupting ratings.

1.5A.1c.4 Safety features.

1.5A.1c.5 Accessories and nameplate data.

1.5A.2a Submit, simultaneously with the shop drawings, companion copies of complete maintenance and operating manuals, including technical data sheets, wiring diagrams, and information for ordering replacement parts.

1.5A.2a.1 Schematic signal and control diagrams, with all terminals identified, matching terminal identification in the switchgear.

1.5A.2a.2 Include information for testing, repair, trouble shooting, assembly, disassembly, and factory recommended/required periodic maintenance procedures and frequency.

1.5A.2a.3 Provide a replacement and spare parts list.

Include a list of tools and instruments for testing and maintenance purposes.

1.5A.2b If changes have been made to the maintenance and operating manuals originally submitted, submit updated maintenance and operating manuals two weeks prior to the final inspection.

1.5A.3 Certifications: Two weeks prior to final inspection, submit the following.

1.5A.3a Certification by the manufacturer that switchgear conforms to the requirements of the drawings and specifications.

1.5A.3b Certification by the Contractor that switchgear has been properly installed, adjusted, and tested.
