2. Question: Specification 014500 – 3.4 – C calls for specific technical CQC personnel to be directly employed by the General Contractor and cannot be employed by a supplier or subcontractor on this project. The technical trades include civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, environmental, submittals, concrete, TAB and Design Quality control.

Answer: 3rd party QC will fulfill the requirements.
3. Can you please provide the product data/equipment connection details for the Siemens equipment that is to be provided by the VA?
Answer: The drawings have been requested from the Service currently responsible for them.
4. Is there an environmental report available for the asbestos abatement to be done?
Answer: AE Response: See attached Survey Report. Asbestos Abatement should follow
Spec Section 02 82 11 Traditional Asbestos Abatement and the Hazardous Materials
Abatement drawings HA101i and HA101. VA response: Please reference attached survey.
5. Hardware set 10H calls for an Lead Lined Electric Strike. We have been unable to locate any manufacturer that has a lead lined electric strike. Please advise.
Answer: AE Response: We were following the VA Masterspec for that door’s hardware needs. Other jobs we have done that use similar lead lined doors and frames use a magnetic lock instead of an electric strike. Both can be activated via prox card. The mag lock cut sheet is attached (M680E) for reference. We would recommend the mag lock. VA response: example attached see A/E response.
