CAT 6 Project – ICU Additional Questions

Q: Will each unit/room be barricaded off as a whole or will individual infection control protocols be in place for each room? It is assumed that if the whole section will not be barricaded that a containment cube will be required. Can we get a copy of the infection control procedures & requirements (mats, negative pressure, etc)?

A: You will have the entire room.

Q: Are you providing all hardware and equipment? If so, will we need to install any of the equipment?

A: Contractor is not responsible for providing any A/V listed hardware or installation of that hardware for this requirement.

Q: What is the “backing” referred to for the AV server? Is it referring to plywood backing? And in-wall or on surface of existing walls?

A: Backing is referred to structural support if needed based off A/V equipment installation location listed in site assessment. Preferred backing will be in-wall if it is determined that it is needed based off cut sheets provided.

Q: What type of electrical conduit is needed? Can it be MC(flex), hospital grade MC, or does it need to be EMT conduit? Will this be a dedicated emergency circuit or tie into an existing emergency circuit?

A: EMT. Dedicated

Q: Will the electrical outlets need to be connected to the panel in the electrical closet or tied into existing local circuits?

A: Connected to Closet

Q: Is there currently room on the existing patch panel in the data rack to accommodate the 10 new Cat

6?

A: Plan on installing a separate panel.

Q: What cabling will be needed for the universal buttons?

A: Refer to cut sheets provided for cabling questions.
