2. General Requirements The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, tools, rigging, transportation, and incidentals necessary to complete the approved replacement work and deliver an operational system.

Work shall be coordinated with the VA Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Engineering staff to minimize disruption to medical center operations. Installation shall comply with the applicable contract approved submittals, manufacturer’s instructions, and facility safety requirements.

3. Field Investigation and Verification Before ordering equipment or beginning demolition, the contractor shall:

· Verify the existing pump location, identification, configuration, manufacturer, model, and nameplate information.

· Verify motor horsepower, voltage, phase, speed, enclosure, and compatibility with the existing starter or variable frequency drive, where applicable.

· Measure suction and discharge connections, piping arrangement, equipment footprint, mounting locations, and available maintenance clearances.

· Inspect the existing base, supports, isolation valves, electrical connections, and equipment access route.

· Identify installation conflicts or deficiencies that could affect the replacement and submit them to the COR for resolution before proceeding.

The replacement pump shall not be selected solely by matching the existing motor horsepower. Pump selection shall be supported by the required system duty point and submitted performance data.

4. Required Submittals Before procurement and installation, submit the following for VA review:
