About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Response from the VA Western New York Healthcare System's Facilities Engineering department, specifically addressing RFI 008 for the Unit 9C Renovations project. The RFI focuses on black mastic in radiator recesses, with Note AA-1 on sheet AA-103 stating that no insulation shall remain in the recessed radiator cavities, and if removal is not possible, the insulation should be encapsulated with paint or a cementitious coat. The document clarifies that ACM (Asbestos Containing Material) pipe insulation is already designated for removal on AA drawings. The response indicates no contractual change is required and is simply a clarification of the existing project scope, with no action needed from the VA Contracting Officer at this time.
