4. Clarification to response for RFI #7:
Answer to question no.7 states replace coping stones if significantly damaged. Detail A on drawing AE-102A states to install flashing underneath the coping stones. ---- For this work contractor will have to remove all existing stones and then reinstall, this will have a big impact on cost. Clarify what will be the height of flashing on the parapet walls? The existing parapet wall height is approximately 3' - 4" height, also advice if coping stones are to be removed and does flashing have to be terminated to outside of the coping stones/edge of the wall.
Clarification: Please refer to Detail F for installation of Flashing within parapet wall, NOT detail A, for Building 1roof.Coping stones shall only be required to be replaced if severely damaged, in which contractor would have to remove to replace individually damaged stones.
5. Clarification Drawing AE-103A:
Drawing AE-103A roof plan note no. 15 states 'New expansion joint as parapet wall, extend 12rows of brick (approximately 2' - 8" min. below bottom of coping stones, if applicable'. ---- Is this new expansion joint work required in this contract?
Clarification: Engineering does not anticipate this being needed for this contract, yet in the event the contractor feels it is necessary, it shall be brought to the COR’s attention who will then seek the manufacturer’s recommendation.
6. All other terms and conditions of VA Solicitation 36C24220B0024 remain unchanged.
