About this file
This document contains answers to questions from contractors regarding a solicitation for police service relocation at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Brockton, Massachusetts. The solicitation involves relocating police services from one area of the medical center to another, which will require asbestos abatement, demolition of walls and plumbing lines, installation of new partitions and plumbing fixtures, and connection of mechanical, electrical, and data systems to the new space. The Veterans Affairs will provide tax exemption and architectural drawings but contractors are responsible for verification of existing conditions and structural support for any new equipment. Bidders should note requirements for confined space entry, suspension ceiling installation, electrical connections to partition systems, and responsibility for third-party industrial hygiene monitoring of asbestos abatement work.
