If it is not in the specification it is not allowed.

WBRC A/E 2019-2-27: Section 23 21 13 does not include press type mechanical joints.

2.) Please advise why is gas piping shown on the HVAC drawings and not on the plumbing drawings?

WBRC A/E 2019-2-27: gas piping is intended to be Div 23 Mechanical scope.

3.) Specification section 23 74 13 Packaged, Outdoor, Central Station Air Handling Units, Part 2.1, B-2 (page 6) identifies the rooftop unit to be installed on a roof curb. Furthermore, detail D2 on drawing AS503 identifies a curb beneath the RTU. Does this rooftop unit sit on a curb? If so, please provide a specification for the rooftop unit curb

WBRC A/E 2019-2-27: Intent is roof curb provided by the RTU manufacturer as indicated drawing C6/M-501. Provide double wall insulated roof curb.

Question 7-

What edition of NFPA 99: Health Care Facilities Code was used as the basis of design for the medical gas and vacuum systems on the project?

WBRC A/E 2019-2-27: 2015. At the time of design, the 2018 edition was not yet available or applicable. Documents (drawings and specs are dated 2017.11.16). Provide inspection and testing per the most current edition of NFPA 99.

Background:

In the most current editions (2015 & 2018) of NFPA 99, there are many new requirements for inspection and testing of these systems. This may add substantial time and cost to this scope of work.

Previous editions (2012 and prior) did not have these requirements.

No – lifts will be purchased through activations funding at a later time

Will the Liko Patient Lifts be solicited at a different timeframe?

Yes or is the Liko Patient Lifts already purchased?

To be evaluated as acceptable the offeror must provide a narrative that addresses prior projects that are directly related in scope, complexity, magnitude, and cost to this requirement completed within the past five (5) years.

Question 12- RFI: Tele/Data

1. Should cabling be Plenum or riser rated?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Refer to specifications for requirements of plenum and riser rated cabling. Any site specific telecommunications requirements shall work in concert with the specifications.

2. Should a half-shaded split triangle have 4 Category 6 cables per legend or only where noted on plans with 2V/2D?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Each is to receive 4 cables per the legend. If a device is labeled with more than 4 jacks (i.e. 4V/4D), provide an additional jack to accommodate the need for more than 4 cables.

3. A triangle with a V is to represent video, can you provide cable requirement for each of these locations?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Each is to receive (1) RG-6/U and (1) Cat. 6 cable.

4. Is all voice and data cabling to be Category 6 terminated onto rack mount patch panels in the IT room? Should these panels be dedicated to voice or data, or should all cables terminate onto the same patch panel fields?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: All horizontal cabling is to terminate in rack mounted patch panels. Each workstation jack is to receive (4) cables. Each of these (4) cables shall terminate in a separate patch panel. (i.e. The top left jack in each faceplate will terminate in the same patch panel until it is full. The same for the top right jack, and so forth). Cabling from video outlets shall terminate in a separate patch panel.

5. Drawing E-401 depicts 4 data racks, are these to be 2 post open frames with vertical cable management on each side? Please clarify racks required and if vertical cable managers are required is there a desired width or manufacturer and part number?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Racks shown are to be 4-post open frame meeting requirements specified for cable management, size and load capacity in section 271100.

6. Drawing ET100B Note 5 depicts 5 outlet locations with 4v/4d for assumed furniture are you looking for a add/deduct price for these outlet locations? Are we to assume these outlets will remain in the wall or be extended into office furniture?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: The tel/data jacks noted are to be provided as the Base Bid. If the deduct alternate is accepted, the cables will be extended and connected to Owner provided systems furniture from this location instead.

7. Drawing ET101A just above comms room 106 there is a half-shaded triangle with an “A” what does the A represent? Will it require something special at this location?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: “A” indicates device mounted 3” above counter or backsplash. Refer to mounting heights noted on Sheet E-001.

8. Is it a correct assumption that all telecommunications cabling in the basement and first floors parts A and B will be distributed from Tel/Data Room 145?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Yes.

9. Is there any backbone requirement to Tel/Data Room 145? If so, what is it and where should it originate?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Refer to Sheet E-100 for origination and proposed path. Provide 12 strands of single-mode fiber, and 50-pair Cat. 5e copper backbone cabling. Refer to Detail F8/E-501; revise Tel/Data 25 to Tele/Data 145.

10. Is there a rack elevation for what is to be provided for panels and accessories required at each rack location indicated?

WBRC A/E 2019-3-1: Refer to answers to questions above.

Question 13-

RFI: Site 1/2 Questions 1.) At column line 1 & 2 at the north – north west corner of the new addition – at the triangle section referred to as the connector – we expect a cut to subgrade in ledge, we also see a bottom of footing elevation of 449’8” – what we do not see is a proposed slab elevation in that area. The detail reference SF-501 &SB-301 are not clear and actually confusing. Please advise what the slab is supposed to be in that area?

Becker Structural 3/1/2019 Provide 3” mat slab over vapor barrier at 1’-0” above top of footing.

2.) Also – at this same area – for purposes of bidding – with the existing footing elevation for the existing building that has an existing floor of EL455.00 – what should be planned? This seems to be an unknown without a scope or budget? If in fact the bottom of the new footing is to be placed 5’ below the existing slab, we may be looking at being about 3’ to 4’ below the existing footing. This situation will need a very clear underpin plan with shoring. Seems like an item that needs structural engineer guidance. Please advise.

Becker Structural 3/1/2019 Reference Note 2 as noted on new footings. Top of new footing to match top of existing footing. This will need to be verified in field. This should not create an undermining condition.

File details come from the government source that posted it.
