REPLACE BOILER PLANT & STEAM DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM
ALEXANDRIA VA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM PINEVILLE, LA
VA Project Number 502-14-102V
I. Objective: Amendment 6 provides direction to refurbish and re-glaze existing steel windows. To retain existing steel windows, Amendment 6 also provides direction to delete all work associated with automatic roll-up doors and screens.
II. Specifications:
1. Section 00 01 00 Table of Contents:
A. Add spec section 08 51 23 Steel Windows.
B. Delete spec section 08 33 00 Coiling Doors and Grilles.
2. Section 08 33 00 Coiling Doors and Grilles: Delete section in entirety.
3. Section 08 51 23 Steel Windows: Add section in entirety.
4. Section 08 80 00, Part 2 – Product. Add the following:
“2.13 Shatter Resistant Window Film.
A. 7-mil.
B. Complies with GSA Test Standard GSA-TS01-2003.
C. Complies with ASTM Test Standard ASTM 1642-04.
D. Basis of Design: 3M Model S70.”
III. Structural:
1. Sheet SB101: delete new steel associated with roll-up doors and screens. Delete section cut D5/SF501 and enlarged plan detail D1/SF501.
2. Sheet SF501:
A. Detail D1/SF501: Delete detail D1/SF501 in entirety.
B. Detail D5/SF501: Delete new steel associated with new overhead coiling doors but retain new slab on grade.
IV.Architectural:
1. Sheet GI001 (Revised): added new Sheet AE603.
2. Sheet AE102 (Revised):
A. Deleted work associated with roll up doors.
B. Added window tags.
3. Sheet AE104 (Revised):
A. Deleted work associated with roll-up doors.
B. Added window tags.
4. Sheet AE201 (Revised):
A. Added window tags.
B. Added steel windows to be refurbished.
C. Added note to repaint existing structure to match new addition.
5. Sheet AE501 (Revised): updated detail D5 to remove steel associated with roll-up doors.
6. Sheet AE502 (Revised): updated detail D5 for new sill.
7. Sheet AE503 (Revised): added steel window details.
8. Sheet AE601 (Revised): added section cut information to detail D5.
9. Sheet AE603 (Newly Issued): newly issued sheet showing work associated with steel window refurbishment.
V. Electrical
1. Sheet EP101 (Revised): Removed circuits for automatic roll-up doors and screens.
2. Sheet EP701 (Revised): Removed circuits for automatic roll-up doors and screens from
Panel 14-HE-2.
