14 Administrative DIV 02 41 00 Para. 1.01.A: provide details of existing hazardous materials & toxic substances

STRI doesnt have registered the presence of Asbestos in this building.

However, due to the age of the structure, proceed with caution and notify the STRI team if asbestos is found. Regarding fiberglass, which is highly likely to be present in the ducts, dispose of the waste in plastic bags labeled as fiberglass and transport it to a landfill. For further information on waste handling and personal protection, please refer to the attached Panama Canal regulation, which provides comprehensive guidelines for managing this type of waste.

17 Fire Stopping DIV 07 84 13 Para. 2.03: Conflict with DWG G-0-05

There is no conflict; paragraph 2.03 only states that in the case where there are walls requiring 4-hour fire resistance, 3-hour resistance may be used. All firestopping shall be at least in accordance with the fire resistance of the wall in which they are installed."

Fire barrier penetrations for walls on this project must be in accordance with section 078413, paragraph 2.03. In other words, (at a minimum) equal to the number of fire rated hours of the wall they penetrate. The portion of the paragraph that states that for 4 hr fire rated walls penetrations are allowed to be 3 hrs does not apply to this project since the project does not have 4 hr fire rated walls. However, its inclusion of that language does not conflict with the plans, as it is a standard to be used as required for the typologies used on the project.

18 Administrative DIV 02 41 19 Para. 2.1.A: confirm requirement with US Environmental Protection Agency

COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL

IMPACT STUDY (ATTACHED EIA Resolution).

With these dimensions the insulation weight might not be a factor in the eventual malfunctioning of the balancer, due to these having a weight limitation. If the height and width were to remain the same, by experience, the balancers may fail by the wear and tear. The other option is the possibility of changing the system from vertical sliding (Single Hung/Guillotine) to horizontal sliding or exterior projectable window, with the dimensions shown on the drawings.
