About this file
This is Amendment #1 to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Tennessee Department of Correction for door replacement at the Northwest Correctional Complex (NWCX). The amendment provides clarifications and responses to bidder questions regarding the gym door replacement project (ITB #32945-13889). The project requires furnishing and installation of 15 exterior doors across two locations: 12 single exterior doors (3' x 7') at the Northside Residential Unit with specific door tag locations (N15 & N16 corridors on first and second floors numbered 151-156 and 251-256) and 3 double exterior doors (6' x 7') at Building 7 Main Compound (doors F101, F102, and F103). The doors are not fire-rated. The amendment confirms that the contractor is responsible only for frame preparation and SFIC/deadbolt mortise work, with the state supplying and installing all deadbolt hardware. The state indicated readiness to begin the project immediately upon award. The original bid deadline of April 24, 2026, was extended to May 4, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. CST per amendment question eight.
The amendment clarifies that the April 29, 2026, delivery date listed in the original ITB is a system placeholder rather than a hard contractual requirement, allowing the awarded vendor to coordinate realistic delivery timelines with the facility. All respondents must hold a valid Tennessee General Contractor's license, as confirmed in the amendment. No specific pricing terms, set-asides, or funding information is detailed in this amendment document. The amendment became effective upon release, with all other terms and conditions of the original ITB remaining in full force and effect.
