PART 3 – EXECUTION
3.01
PLACING RIPRAP
Prior to placing riprap, filter fabric shall be installed as shown on the drawings and to the manufacturer’s requirements. Rock riprap shall then be placed on the filter fabric in such a way to ensure it is not punctured during placement. Rock riprap shall also be placed to ensure that larger rock fragments are uniformly distributed and that the material when placed is stable. The rock riprap shall be placed to the depth and area as shown on the drawings and placing shall be done to the extent necessary to assure placement in compliance with the above.
Prior to the placement of fabric, the ground surface shall be graded smooth. No rocks, lumps of dirt, or other material, which may damage the fabric, shall remain. Fabric shall be laid smooth without folds or wrinkles. Adjacent rolls of fabric shall be overlapped a minimum of 12-inches.
