About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 0002) issued to clarify requirements for a federal contract opportunity involving environmental remediation work at a Coast Guard Station.
The amendment addresses six inquiries from potential contractors regarding soil contamination assessment and removal procedures. Key points include: soil sampling and laboratory data questions are answered in Amendment 0001, and the revised Statement of Work removes the requirement to remove contaminated soil. Questions concerning the horizontal and vertical limits of contamination, cleanup standards for determining excavation cessation, and soil classification for disposal are all cross-referenced to Amendment 0001 for answers. The Coast Guard Station is identified as the EPA generator for removed soil. Additionally, any unanticipated additional work beyond the contract scope will be handled as growth work to be negotiated between the contractor and Government rather than processed as a formal change order.
