This control panel must be installed and serviced by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electric Code NFPA•70, state and local electrical codes.
All conduit running from the sump or tank to the control panel must be sealed with conduit sealant to prevent moisture or gases from entering the panel. NEMA 4X enclosures are for indoor or outdoor use, primarily to provide a degree of protection against corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing water and hose-directed water. Cable connectors must be liquid tight in NEMA 4X enclosures.
Type TD control panels are designed to operate with two, three or four float systems. The two float system utilizes one float as the "low level cutout", the second as "high level alarm".Athree float system adds either a "redundant off'' float or a "timer override" float to the "low level cutout" and "high level alarm" functions. A four float system includes a "redundant off float", a "low level cut out" float, a "timer override" float, and a "high level alarm" float.
NOTE: Options ordered may affect the number of floats and their func tions. Please reference the schematic provided with the control panel.
Installation of Floats
CAUTION: If control switch cables are not wired and mounted in the correct order, the pump system will not function properly.
WARNING: Turn off all power before installing floats in pump chamber.
Failure to do so could result in serious or fatal electrical shock.
1. Use float label kit to identify and label cables on both the float and stripped ends (low level cutout, alarm, etc.). See schematic for float options.
2. Determine your normal operating level and desired float configuration, as illustrated in Figures 1-4.
3. Mount float switches at appropriate levels as illustrated in Figures 1-4. Be sure that floats have free range of motion without touching each other or other equipment in the basin.
4. For mounting clamp installation: place the cord into the clamp as shown in Figure 5. Locate the clamp at the desired activation level and secure the clamp to the discharge pipe as shown in Figure 5.
NOTE: Do not install cord under hose clamp.
5. Tighten the hose clamp using a screwdriver. Over tightening may result in damage to the plastic clamp. Make sure the float cable is not allowed to touch the excess hose clamp band during operation.
NOTE:All hose clamp components are made of 18-8 stainless steel material.
See your SJE-Rhombus® supplier for replacements.
6. If using an optional redundant off float, mount slightly below the I cutout float, but above the pump as illustrated in Figures 2 & 4
7. If using an optional timer override float, positio shown in Figure 3 & 4.

Mounting the Control Panel
1. Detem1ine mounting location for panel. If distance exceeds the length of either the float switch cables or the pump power cables, splicing will be required. For outdoor or wet installation, we recommend the use of an SJE-Rhombuglll liquid-tight junction box with liquid-tight connectors to make required connections. You must use conduit seal ant to prevent moisture or gases from entering the panel.
2. Mount control panel with mounting devices furnished.
3. Determine conduit entrance ·1acations on control panel.
Check local codes and schematic for the number of power circuits required.
NOTE: Be sure the proper power supply voltage, amperage, ahd phase meet the requirements of the pump motor be• ing installed. If in doubt, see the pump identification plate for voltage/phase .requirements.
4. Drill proper size holes for type of connectors being used.
NOTE: If using conduit, be sure that it is of adequate size to pull the pump and switch cables through.
5. Attach cable connectors and/or conduit connectors to con• trol panel.

8. Run conduit to junction box. Drill proper size holes for the type of conduit used.
9. Identify and label each wire before pulling through conduit into control panel and junction box. Make wire splice con• nections at junction box.
10. Firmly tighten all fittings on junction box.
11. If a junction box is not required, pull cables through con• duit into control panel.
12. Connect pump wires and float switch cables to the proper terminals as seen in Figures 6 & 7. If the redundant off float is not required, place a jumper wire across TB1-7 andTB1-8.
13. Connect pump/control and alarm incoming power conduc tors to proper position on terminals. See schematic and wiring diagram for terminal connections.

Setting the timer
Remove the timer by clipping the tie strap and pulling it straight out of the socket.
1. Determine the pump ~on & off' time and turn the adjustment screw (1) so that the most appropriate range of numbers (usable for both the on and off cycles) is visible in the windows on the dial face.
2. Adjust the off time range selector (2) to the appropriate period.
(e.g.: minutes).
3. Adjust the outer dial (3) so the green pointer indicates the off time period required. (e.g.:15)
4. Adjust the on timer range selector (4) to the appropriate period (e.g.: minutes).
5. Adjust the inner dial (5) so the red pointer indicates the on time period required. {e.g.: 5)
6. When setting is complete, place the timer back in the socket.
7. In the example shown, the pump would b ff for 15 minu and then on for 5 minutes. This cycle would co as there was enough liquid in the tank to float cutoff switch.
NOTE: "OFF" time is cycled first.

BIOLINE DRIPPER OPERATION
Biotin~ drippers are pressure compensating - delivering the water uniformly into the soil for further treatment or for reuse by the landscape. These unique drippers allow the tubing to be installed on flat topography or steep slopes.
Bioline drippers are protected against microbial slime.
Each dripper is impregnated with an antimicrobial agent to res·1st biological build-up.
Netafim drippers are continuously self-cleaning during operation, not just at the beginning and end of a cycle. The result is dependable, clog-free operation, year after year.

Supply Line: While most systems use Schedule 40 PVC, the correct pipe should be used to match the conditions. Check local code.
Supply Manifold: Schedule 40 PVC (or as appropriate for conditions) piping is the standard of design where the effluent is distributed to the Bioline ® via flex connections. Drops in system pressure should be minimized to ensure that a sufficient flushing velocity is maintained.
Connections to the supply and flush manifolds (number of laterals) should be minimized for system efficiency.
Dripperlines: Effluent flows through Bioline and into the soil through its emitters (drippers).
The emitters each have a specific flow rate of 0.4, 0.6, or 0.9 gallons per hour (GPH). The flow rates are designed to prevent overloading of the soil and allow the designer to match the capacity of the soil to the flow rate of the dripper. In general, the lower the dripper flow rate, the slower the infiltration rate of the soil.
Flush Manifold: The characteristics of the flush manifold are the same as the supply manifold both in terms of material, size and number of connections.
Flush Line: In an effort to reduce the use of different size pipes and fittings, the flush line is typically the same size and type as the flush manifold. However, it can be sized as a function of the actual flow (which is less than the supply pipe delivers due to the dosing that occurs in the dripline) and the distance it has to travel back to where it terminates. It normally terminates at the front end of the treatment system in systems when intermittent dripline flushing is being done or into the dosing tank though the flow inducer when used with

When supply and return headers are installed going up (with) the slope, check valves help to prevent the zone's effluent from draining down to the lowest point or flowing back to the dose tank.
Loops and Flexible Connections: Bioline ® dripperline or Bio line blank tubing can easily be made to turn 180 degrees in applications where the rows are 24" apart. However, for maximum long-term protection against kinking, especially in freeze-thaw conditions, it is common practice to install flex PVC pipe whenever a turn of 45 degrees or more is made.
These flex connections are used to prevent the possibility of kinking the dripperline which could reduce or shut off the flow. Flexible connections are also used to connect Bioline to the supply and return manifolds. The primary purpose in this case is to ensure that any sharp objects or other debris that may be in the trenches of the supply and flush headers do not cut the dripperline. It also helps to protect against the shrinking, swelling, movement and settling of the soils.
The flex connection also prevents dripperline flow from entering the trench of the supply and flush manifolds. Because these trenches may run up and down slope, they can become drains, with the potential for effluent surfacing at the downstream end. As such, it is highly recommended that the dripperline not drip into the trench.

Air/Vacuum Relief Valves Air in a drip dispersal system is both good and bad. Air /Vacuum Relief Valves perform a necessary function when a zone shuts down by allowing air to replace the effluent as it drains out of the dripperline. However, air can hinder proper system performance on zone tum on by delaying when the drippers farthest from the beginning of the zone system begin operating.
On zone tum on, Air/Vacuum Relief Valves quickly expel air in the dripperlines, allowing the dripperline to fill more quickly and helping to produce a more uniform dose, especially when short dosing intervals are used.
Designs should include a minimum of two Air/Vacuum Relief Valves per zone. They should be located at the highest point(s) of both the supply and flush manifolds and are typically placed in a valve box lined with gravel for protection, It is important that they always have access to free air.

Drip Irrigation
Startup headworks adjustment
For continuous flush operation
1) Flush the entire piping network of construction debris by running the pump for several minutes with the field flush valve completely open.
2) Shut off the pump and clean the disk filter of accumulated debris
3) Turn the pump on again. With the pump running slowly close the field flush valve.
Once the needle on the pressure gauges stabilize, record the flow rate through the flow meter for one minute. This will be the actual dose flow rate in gpm needed to calculate the timer settings.
4) Next, calculate the flushing flow rate by multiplying the number of laterals by a factor of 1.6 gpm. Add the dosing flow rate from step 3 to the flushing flow rate. This new accumulative, minimum flow rate is the minimum low rate needed to achieve adequate scouring velocity in the entire system when the system is closed.
5) While the pump is running open the field flush valve slowly until the return pressure gauge reads 10 psi.
6) Now record the flow rate through the flow meter. It should be greater than the new accumulated flow rate required in step 4. More is better
