About this file
This document is a Categorical Exclusion form for a project to replace approximately 9,600 feet of underground electrical distribution cables and construct an electrical and telephone closet tower at the Lake City VA Medical Center campus in Lake City, Florida. The project aims to address emergency power system deficiencies identified in Facility Condition Assessments and ensure compliance with VA space planning criteria and OIT design guidelines. It would involve repairs and renovations but no new construction or leases. Environmental permits are not anticipated to be required as the project qualifies for a Categorical Exclusion under NEPA. The related federal contract opportunity posted by the VA seeks to award a contract to complete the expansion of the electrical distribution system through replacement of the underground feeder cables and construction of the new closet tower as described in the CATEX form.
