About this file

This is an Analysis Request Form from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) that outlines seed testing procedures and requirements for vendors participating in the FY27 Fall Seed Bid (AS27-104). The form serves as the primary mechanism for vendors to communicate seed testing specifications to approved seed laboratories before seed arrival at the Great Basin Research Center (GBRC) Seed Warehouse in Ephraim, Utah. Vendors must complete and submit the Analysis Request Form to dwrseed@utah.gov at least two business days prior to seed delivery. The form requires vendors to provide comprehensive seed lot information including vendor name, species details (common and scientific names), variety or germplasm identification, eco-region and seed zone classification, lot number, total pounds, bag configuration, and certification status. Testing options available to vendors include purity testing, tetrazolium (TZ) testing, noxious weed testing for all Western States, rush testing, and high confidence testing (two-sample analysis) for specific sagebrush and rabbitbrush species designated by the State.

The form specifies that only approved seed laboratories may conduct testing, including official state seed laboratories from twelve western states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Indiana, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) and designated private laboratories such as Precision Seed Testing (Applewood Seed Co.) and Agri Seed Testing Inc., as well as any USDA-approved accredited seed entity with appropriate accreditation scope. Vendors must indicate whether seed has been treated and, if so, specify the treatment type. The State reserves the right to mandate additional testing beyond vendor requests and will notify vendors via email of such requirements. Special provisions address Amaranth species detection, requiring genetic testing for Palmer amaranth verification through prior coordination with UDWR. Test results are transmitted to dwrseed@utah.gov, with billing directed to the GBRC Seed Warehouse, and all seed must be delivered on pallets not exceeding 2,500 pounds, with vendors assuming responsibility for transit damage.
