About this file
This is a specification document for Section 265100 - Interior Lighting, part of Project 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade. The specification details the requirements for furnishing and installing interior lighting systems, including luminaires, emergency lighting units, exit signs, ballasts, drivers, and lamps. The project requires compliance with multiple reference standards including IES LM-79, IES LM-80, NECA/IESNA 500 and 502, NFPA 70, NFPA 101, UL 924, UL 1598, and UL 8750. Key product requirements include LED luminaires with a minimum estimated useful life of 50,000 hours at 70 percent lumen maintenance, emergency lighting units complying with NFPA 101 and UL 924 that automatically switch to battery power upon loss of normal power or voltage drop exceeding 20 percent, and exit signs meeting NFPA 101 and UL 924 standards. All luminaires must be UL listed and labeled as appropriate for their intended purpose, with LED components recognized or listed under UL 8750.
Installation requirements mandate compliance with NECA standards for workmanship, with luminaires installed securely, plumb, and square, aligned with building lines and adjacent fixtures. Recessed luminaires in fire-rated ceilings must include firestopping materials meeting regulatory requirements, while suspended luminaires of four feet or greater length require minimum two supports with no more than four feet between supports. Emergency lighting units and exit signs must connect to unswitched power sources, bypassing local switches and controls. Field quality control includes inspection for damage, operational testing of all luminaires, and specific testing of emergency and exit lighting units to verify proper battery operation. A three-year manufacturer warranty is required for all LED luminaires including drivers. The specification does not identify specific pricing, quantities, response dates, bidders meetings, award dates, or contract terms.
