About this file

This is a technical specification document for Section 260583 – Wiring Connections, part of Project 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade. The specification outlines the requirements for electrical connections to equipment including the use of flexible conduit, cord and plug connections (NEMA 6-20R), and field-installed disconnect switches. The work encompasses the installation of wiring devices, flexible conduit, wire and cable, and boxes in accordance with referenced standards including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEMA WD 1, and NEMA WD 6. All electrical connections must be executed according to equipment manufacturer's instructions, with particular attention to proper conduit connections, strain-relief clamps, terminal block jumpers, and interconnecting conduit and wiring between devices. The specification requires that all materials comply with applicable standards for damp and wet locations where applicable, and that equipment be verified as ready for electrical connection prior to installation.

The specification establishes quality assurance requirements mandating full compliance with NFPA 70 and associated standards. Contractors must obtain and review shop drawings, product data, and manufacturer's wiring diagrams for equipment furnished under other sections to ensure proper coordination and determine connection locations. Materials specified include cords and caps matching receptacle configurations, flexible conduit for connections to equipment, and wire and cable as detailed in referenced sections. The document does not specify pricing, contract award dates, renewal options, funding sources, or set-asides, as it functions as a technical specification document rather than a solicitation or bid package document.
