About this file
This is a specification document (Section 260583 - Wiring Connections) for the 25-388 CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade project. The specification establishes requirements for electrical connections to equipment as part of a broader HVAC and lighting upgrade initiative. The document outlines technical standards and procedures for wiring connections but does not include project timelines, bid deadlines, site visit schedules, bidders' conferences, award dates, or contract term information. The scope encompasses flexible conduit connections, cord and plug connections (NEMA 6-20R configuration), and field-installed disconnect switches for equipment installations.
The specification mandates compliance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) and NEMA standards (WD 1 and WD 6) for all wiring devices and connections. Materials must include Type SO multiconductor flexible cord suitable for damp locations, with proper color coding and sizing appropriate for connected loads and branch circuit overcurrent protection. All electrical connections must follow equipment manufacturer's instructions, with provisions for strain-relief clamps, terminal block jumpers, and interconnecting conduit between devices. The document does not address pricing, funding sources, set-asides, incumbent contractors, or other procurement-related terms, as it functions solely as a technical specification for project execution.
