About this file

This is a specification section document for the CBI HVAC and Lighting Upgrade project (25-388), specifically detailing requirements for hydronic pumps as part of a state and local contract opportunity. The specification outlines five primary pump types to be supplied: system-lubricated circulators, circulators, in-line pumps, end-suction pumps, and dual-drive pump systems. The document does not specify item quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidders' meetings, award dates, or contract terms. Instead, it establishes technical and performance requirements for pump manufacturers and installation standards that bidders must meet.

The specification identifies three approved manufacturers: Armstrong Fluid Technology, Inc., Bell & Gossett (a Xylem Inc. brand), and Taco Comfort Solutions, with substitutions allowed per Section 016000. All pumps must meet UL 778 quality standards and operate within specified performance parameters, including pressure ratings up to 175 psi and temperature limitations up to 250 degrees Fahrenheit depending on pump type. The document requires comprehensive submittals including certified pump curves, manufacturer installation instructions, operation and maintenance data, and millwright certification for aligned base-mounted pumps. Installation requirements mandate proper piping support, valve installation, air cocks, drain connections, concrete bases with anchor bolts, and side-stream filtration systems for closed-loop applications. No pricing information, set-asides, incumbent contractors, or specific funding sources are detailed in this specification document.
