About this file
This is a Local Public Agency Proposal Bid Bond form for the City of Urbana, Champaign County, Illinois, related to Section 26-00714-00-PP for the Joint and Crack Sealing 2026 project. The project involves routing, cleaning, and sealing cracks in existing Portland cement concrete pavement at various locations. The bid bond was completed on March 31, 2026. Bidders are required to submit a proposal in response to the invitation for bids, and upon acceptance, the principal must enter into a formal contract within fifteen days after award, furnish a performance surety bond, and provide evidence of required insurance coverage as specified in the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and applicable Supplemental Specifications.
The bid bond is set at 5% of the total bid price or the amount specified in the proposal documents, whichever is lesser. Failure to comply with contract requirements within the specified timeframe results in forfeiture of the full penal sum, with the LPA entitled to recover all court costs, attorney fees, and other recovery expenses. The form allows for both traditional completion with notarized signatures from the principal and surety or submission of an electronic bid bond ID code. If the principal is a joint venture of two or more contractors, each contractor must provide authorized signatures or electronic bid bond information as required.
