About this file

This is a Performance and Payment Bond template document issued by Sarasota County Government in compliance with Florida Statute Chapter 255.05(1)(a). The bond is required for Unit Price Contract (UPC) work related to transit shelter and shelter pad installation at various locations throughout Sarasota County. The bond serves as a guarantee that the principal contractor will perform all contract work as specified, make timely payments to all suppliers and laborers, and indemnify the County for any losses, damages, or expenses resulting from contractor default. The contract referenced is Bid #252761MN for transit shelter and shelter pad installation, with the County Board of County Commissioners designated as the owner. The bond amount is to be determined based on individual work assignments, and the surety company and contractor information will be completed at contract execution. The document requires the contractor's principal and surety to bind themselves jointly and severally for performance and payment obligations throughout the contract term as specified in the underlying work assignment documents.

The Performance and Payment Bond incorporates standard provisions requiring the contractor to guarantee all work and materials for the time period specified in the contract documents. The bond obligates the contractor to comply with all contract terms and conditions, with any modifications to the contract not affecting the surety's obligations. Claims by claimants under the bond must be filed in accordance with notice and time limitation provisions outlined in Florida Statute 255.05(2). The document provides space for designation of the surety company's claims contact information and any authorized agents or representatives in Florida. This bond template reflects the County's requirement for contractors to provide bonding security for work assignments exceeding $200,000, as stated in the related solicitation documents, and ensures financial accountability for performance and payment obligations throughout the contract duration.
