About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a remote condensing unit installation project at WC100 on Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The project requires a contractor to provide materials, labor, equipment, and supervision to install a new 460 Volt/3 Phase/60 Hertz Remote Condensing Unit on the roof, replacing a non-repairable existing system for Reefer Box (I). Specific technical requirements include routing new refrigerant piping, supporting and insulating the piping, evacuating and charging the system with R-404A refrigerant, and ensuring the box temperature is set at 35 degrees. The electrical work involves demolishing old wiring, installing new conduit and wiring from the circuit breaker to a wall-mounted disconnect, and connecting the new condensing unit. Special conditions include coordinating scheduling with Terry Castleberry and potential after-hours work to prevent service interruptions.

PROJECT #: 25R004CN

ATTACHMENTS: N/A

SCOPE OF WORK:

The contractor shall provide all material, labor, equipment, and supervision required to accomplish the following:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The intent of this project is to install a new Remote Condensing Unit on the roof of WC100 to bring Reefer Box (I) back into operation. Current system cannot be repaired. WC100 is located on the corner of Wallace Creek Road and Endurance Drive on Camp Lejeune, N.C. 28547.

REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS:

1) MECHANICAL

a) Install new 460 Volt/3 Phase/60 Hertz Remote Condensing Unit on roof. Level

Condensing Unit and secure Unit on Roof Mounting Blocks equivalent to DiversiTech (FF- 600-S). Contractor shall send Equipment Submittal with quote for Government Review.

1. R-404A Refrigerant

2. 25-degree Suction Temperature

3. 95-degree Ambient Temperature

4. Medium Temperature Operating Range

5. Application – Cooler

b) Properly flush existing line sets. Install acid-away in system.

c) Route new refrigerant piping from the existing roof penetration to new Remote Condensing Unit.

1. Support new refrigerant piping with Rooftop Support Rubber Blocks with Struts equivalent to DiversiTech (FF-600-S). Install supports every 8 feet.

2. Insulate new refrigerant piping with 1 inch wall thickness insulation.

3. Wrap insulation with aluminum jacket with stainless steel straps for UV Protection.

d) After installation is complete, evacuate system to 500 microns or below and ensure it holds this vacuum level for 2 hours. Properly charge system with R-404A Refrigerant and check system for proper operation.

Box Temperature to be set at 35 degrees.

2) ELECTRICAL

a) Demo old wiring from Circuit Breaker (I) to Contactor (I). Demo Contactor (I). Cap off all wiring for Contactor (I) and abandon in place. Label abandoned wiring as “No Longer in Use (Box I)”.

b) Route new ¾” RMC Conduit and 480 Volt/#10 THHN Solid Wiring from Circuit Breaker (I), in Control Panel of existing rooftop refrigeration unit, to wall-mounted 3 Phase/ NEMA 3R/ 600 Volt/ 30 Amp Fused Disconnect. Replace Circuit Breaker (I), if necessary, due to amp draw of the new Condensing Unit. Use screws with rubber washers for anything mounted on the face of the metal wall. Any holes in metal wall shall be properly sealed to prevent any water penetration. #10 Solid Wiring shall consist of 1 Brown, 1 Yellow, 1 Orange, and 1 Green Conductor.

1. Install properly sized fuses in new disconnect for Remote Condensing Unit.

2. New RMC Conduit to be routed on and fastened to Rooftop Rubber Support Blocks w/ Struts, equivalent to DiversiTech (FF-600-S), every 5 feet. Support Blocks for conduit shall be wide enough to carry 5 – ¾” RMC Conduits with proper spacing.

3. RMC Conduit to be mounted on Rooftop Rubber Support Blocks separate from Refrigeration Lines.

c) Install ¾” Liquid-Tight Conduit from fused disconnect to new Remote Condensing Unit

SPECIAL SCHEDULING AND ACCESS:

All scheduling and access shall be coordinated with the Terry Castleberry.
