The project involves the demolition of approximately 400 linear feet of existing cast iron piping and installation of 400 linear feet of 20-inch Internal Restraint C900 piping and associated appurtenances inside the 5.8 million-gallon below-ground Watts Tank. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM, with sealed bids due on April 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM. Pueblo Water will award the contract by April 18, 2024, with a project duration from October 1 through December 13, 2024. Bidders must register on BidNet Direct and may participate in the bid opening via conference call.
The bid requires a 10% bid guarantee and involves Pueblo Water providing the pipe, flanges, valves, bolts, nuts, and roll-offs for scrap iron, while the contractor will supply additional construction materials like epoxy paint, concrete touch-up materials, grouting supplies, and strapping. The contractor will be responsible for determining the need for new pipe cradles during the mandatory pre-bid inspection. Liquidated damages are set at $400 per day of default, and the project includes specific requirements for Colorado labor utilization, with at least 80% of workers expected to be Colorado residents. The contract also mandates various insurance requirements, including general liability, workers' compensation, and umbrella liability coverage, with Pueblo Water as an additional insured party.
