About this file
This is Information Letter No. 2 from the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) regarding Contract No. C51674 for the Full Pipe Penetration Replacement Deferred Maintenance Program at Davis Sites 545 and 549 in Yolo County. The letter provides answers to seven questions submitted by potential bidders, clarifying that builder's risk insurance is not required, the project completion date is July 31, 2025, and days referenced are calendar days unless otherwise specified. The letter also clarifies that contractors are responsible for all quality control testing and inspection, concrete placement temperature requirements have been revised to not exceed 85 degrees F per ASTM C1064, and precast concrete boxes are not acceptable for riser units.
The document provides technical specifications regarding sand cone density testing requirements, excavated soil reuse guidelines, and refers bidders to specific sections of the contract documents for detailed material testing requirements across multiple project components including earthwork, aggregate base, waterstop, cast-in-place concrete, controlled low strength material (CLSM), and coatings. Additional questions are to be directed to doe_specs@water.ca.gov.
