About this file
This document is a specification for a Roadway Clearing Device to be used in conjunction with a state and local government contract opportunity. The device is designed for heavy-duty modular steel construction with a corrosion-resistant powder-coat finish, and is capable of pushing debris up to 150 lbs at 20 mph when deployed. Key features include a quick-disconnect vehicle-specific mount, hydraulic raise/lower functionality with a dashboard indicator, hydraulically adjustable wings, a camera view system, and computer-controlled safety deployment limitations. The device is specified to fit Ford F450 trucks equipped with heavy-service front suspension or snow-plow prep packages.
The document outlines detailed technical requirements for the Roadway Clearing Device, including dimensions, weight, and clearance specifications. It does not provide information on pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or contract term and renewal options.

o All steel components shall be white metal blasted or equivalent.
Designed and tested to push debris up to 150 lbs. at 20 mph in the deployed (down) position.
Quick-disconnect vehicle specific mount direct to frame.
3/4" rubber contact face to protect device during debris removal and allow unit to be used as push bumper when in the stowed position.
Air flow provisions in moldboard and wings for host vehicle’s cooling system.
Hydraulically raise/lower device from single push-button handheld controller with cradle.

o This device is designed to operate in FLOAT mode while deployed to follow contours of the road surface.
o Controller has lights indicating when unit is in FLOAT mode.
o The controller automatically allows the device to coast to a soft stop. This results in smoother operation and decreased wear on the hydraulic system.
Hydraulically adjustable wings mounted to left and right of moldboard to contain debris when deployed and to contour to vehicle when stowed.
o Wings deploy simultaneously with single push-button control.
o Secured to moldboard with full height 1” hinges with removeable pins and grease fittings.
o The wings are 35° from the maul board when stowed. They travel 75° to their fully deployed position. When fully deployed, they are 40° from the maul board. these angles have a +/-5° tolerance.
Bolt-on replaceable scraping edge with wear indicator.
Camera view system with 170° wide-angle lens, 1080p HD resolution and external infrared. 7" touch-screen color HD monitor with audio. Camera mounted top center of device to view moldboard blind spot by driver.
