About this file
This document is a set of supplemental specifications for the Pinellas County, Florida FY 2024 Pavement Preservation Package 3 (Contract No. 23-0833), which covers road and street construction. The project encompasses four paving locations, including one arterial (Tampa Road Resurfacing) and three local group resurfacing projects (Local Groups 63, 86, and 99), totaling approximately 36.05 miles of roadway. The specifications detail various pay items for superpave asphalt concrete, including leveling and surface courses for different road types, with specifications for Type SP 9.5 and SP 12.5 mixes, fine aggregate, and Traffic Level C applications.
The document specifies technical requirements for the project, including a 25% restriction on recycled asphalt pavement (RAP), milling of existing asphalt pavements up to 2" thickness, and utility adjustments such as valve boxes and manhole rings and covers. Measurement and payment are typically per ton for asphalt and per each for utility adjustments, with no fuel price adjustments applicable. The specifications reference multiple technical documents, including Pinellas County Standard Supplemental Specifications for Roadway and General Construction (April 2022), Pinellas County Utilities Department Standard Technical Specifications (June 2018), and Florida Department of Transportation Standard Specifications (July 2022).
