About this file

This is a Standard Form 30 Amendment of Solicitation/Modification of Contract for an electrical service connections project at Building 2272, issued by NAWCAD Procurement Group. The amendment includes a comprehensive list of 17 Requests for Information (RFIs) and responses related to electrical work for new furniture installations, covering details such as wiring methods, panel capacity, working hours, and installation logistics. Key technical clarifications include confirmation that metallic cable (MC) is an acceptable wiring method, subpanels can be added for spare circuits, and as-built circuit routing diagrams will be sufficient for the project.

The amendment also adds two attachments: an electrical solicitation sign-in sheet dated 23-DEC-2025 and attachments 1-8 dated 11-DEC-2025. The solicitation (N00421226Q0005) involves electrical reconnections that will require multiple phased return visits, with work to be performed during normal business hours and scheduled in advance with the government. Contractors are advised that electrical re-connections will be coordinated with the furniture installation schedule to minimize disruption to existing workstations.

REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION

ELECTRICAL SERVICE CONNECTIONS TO NEW FURNITURE IN OFFICE AND CUBICAL SPACES

WITHIN BUILDING 2272 Solicitation: N00421226Q0005 RFI Questions Government Response 1 Would the Government please provide a copy of the site visit sign-in sheet Yes, a copy of the sign in sheet will be provided.

2 The Statement of Work 1.4 states “Time of Completion: Work shall be prosecuted diligently and shall be completed for use within the time indicated in the award document. Duration time is calendar days not workdays.”

Please provide the number of calendar days from NTP to project completion, as the project schedule directly affects pricing. This electrical work is time-sensitive and would be great if it could be started and completed quickly.

3 Please confirm that MC (metallic cable) is an approved and acceptable wiring method for this project.

Yes, metallic cable (MC) is an acceptable wiring method for this project.

4 Please advise if any new panel(s) are required for the additional electrical circuits for any of the electrical scope. Access was give to company representatives during the walkthrough for this solicitation to make an assessment. It is each company's responsibility to confirm if additional sub-panels are required as part of their proposal.

5 Please confirm the interior and exterior wall depths for running new wiring. Typical suite interior wall depths are 2.5” metal studs and exterior fire rated wall depths are 3-5/8” metal studs.

6 Can you verify with the furniture contractors if their power poles are 3 or 4 wire? I believe it was 4 but just wanted to be sure. Confirming 4-wire power poles.

7 Most of the panels in the electric rooms did not have space for spare circuits. Can we add subpanels in order to add more circuits? Yes, the addition of subpanel(s) for spare circuits is/are acceptable.

8 What are the expected working hours/days for these projects? Normal business hours, but work must be scheduled in advance with the govermnet prior to any portion that may cause power disruptions.

9 Do we have to submit a quote for all 8 attachments? Please itemize each CLIN as a separate price. Please refer to SOW.

10 Are copies of 1 line diagrams or panel schedules available? No, 1-line diagrams or panel schedules are not available.

11 Is the designated SSHO for the job allowed to work or are they restricted only to supervision? The designated SSHO for this project will be allowed to work.

12 Will core drilling through the existing slab be permitted for power feeds to furniture systems, and if so, are there any restrictions (locations, hours, firestopping requirements, or structural review approvals)? No, core drilling will not be permitted for power feeds to systems furniture. Please propose an alternate solution.

13 Can the Government confirm that existing electrical panels serving Building 2272 have sufficient spare capacity for all new circuits shown, or will panel upgrades / new breakers be required? Access was give to company representatives during the walkthrough for this solicitation to make an assessment. It is each bidders responsibility to verify existing panel capacity and design to code requirements based on your assesment during the site visit. Any assumptions should be noted in your proposal.

14 For areas shown with power poles on the furniture plans, will under-carpet surface raceway systems be approved as an equal alternative where they reduce cost, and who is the final approval authority (COR or NAVFAC)? For locations with base feeds under-carpet surface raceway systems are approved as an equal alternative as the exception suite 536 workstation N1 which could be powered via under-carpet surface raceway.

However, all power to power poles will be supplied via overhead plenum above the drop ceiling.

15 Will the Government provide a finalized furniture installation schedule for each suite, and will electrical re-connections occur in a single mobilization or require multiple phased return visits? Yes, a furniture schedule

N0042126Q0005 will be provided. However, furniture installation schedule will be coordinated based on the electrical disconnections schedule for existing workstations as to not disrupt use of those workstations that currently have existing power. Electrical re-connections will require multiple phased return visits.

16 Does the Government require a stamped electrical riser diagram and load calculations as part of the electrical design services, or will as-builts and simple circuit routing diagrams be sufficient? As-builts and simple circuit routing diagrams are sufficient.

17 Will the Government please provide the site visit sign-in sheet? Yes, a copy of the sign in sheet will be provided.
