AXIS Companion product support update
Rev: 1.1, Last updated: 24/06/2024 1
Product support and policy update
AXIS Surveillance Cards now required for new installations in AXIS Companion
From June 27, 2024, third-party SD cards will no longer be supported for new setups, though existing installations remain unaffected.
Not all surveillance cards are created equal. AXIS Surveillance Cards are optimized specifically for surveillance, offering greater functionality and endurance compared to traditional SD cards.
These cards have a lifespan that matches the cameras they are used with, reducing maintenance costs, and ensuring greater cost-efficiency.
To guarantee maximum quality for every installation, AXIS Companion has exclusively supported AXIS Surveillance Cards for the past three years. Starting June 27, 2024, new installations using third-party SD cards will no longer be possible.
However, existing installations using third-party SD cards will continue to operate as usual after this date. No current installations will be affected.
