About this file

This addendum document is related to a roof replacement project issued by the Nottawa Community School District in Sturgis, Michigan. Addendum #1, dated May 1, 2026, modifies the original contract documents for the Nottawa School Roof Replacement project (Project No. 0826) and is prepared by Ehresman Architects. The project scope includes removal of existing metal roofing and built-up roof system (approximately 11,917 square feet), installation of new insulation and fully-adhered EPDM membrane, construction of new parapet and gable walls with steel pipe bracing and siding, installation of new perimeter metal edge fascia and flashings, installation of new prefinished metal gutter and downspout systems, and raising of existing rooftop mechanical and electrical equipment as necessary. The addendum includes drawing revisions to the Title Sheet and Sections & Details sheets, as well as specification revisions to the Affidavit of Compliance—Iran Economic Sanctions Act. A pre-bid meeting was held on April 30, 2026, with eight roofing contractors in attendance. Bids are due on May 12, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the school location, with an anticipated award date of May 19, 2026. The contractor must begin on-site operations by June 1, 2026, with substantial completion targeted for August 14, 2026, and final completion by August 21, 2026, prior to the school's resumption on August 24, 2026.

The project requires a fixed stipulated sum bid with a 5% bid bond and 100% performance and payment bonds included in the base proposal cost. No prevailing wage or union labor requirements apply to this project. Unit prices are requested for potential unforeseen conditions or small additions and deletions. The contractor is responsible for documenting pre-construction conditions and any damage to existing items during construction will be repaired at the contractor's expense. Site staging, product storage, and equipment placement (including crane locations) must be coordinated with the school owner prior to commencement. All addenda will be issued through SIGMA and posted on the district's website, with contractor questions due by May 5, 2026, at noon, and final addenda issued by May 6, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. The total roof area is 11,917 square feet, consisting of Roof Area A (862 square feet) and Roof Area B (11,055 square feet).
