This is an executed Grant Agreement between the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and the City of Plant City for the McIntosh Park Wetland Construction project. The agreement establishes the terms and conditions for state funding support of the comprehensive wetland restoration and construction initiative at McIntosh Preserve, a 363-acre park located within Plant City. The project scope includes wetland excavation, restoration, and planting; installation of reclaimed water pipe infrastructure and associated apparatus; and optional bid alternates for recreational amenities such as restrooms and wetland boardwalks. A distinctive feature involves utilizing excavated soils from the restored wetland footprint to construct a 50-foot hill shaped like Florida that will remain on site. The project is designed to provide stormwater treatment and augment wetlands to maintain hydroperiods using reclaimed water from the City's water reclamation facility. All work performed, expenditures incurred, and project-related actions are required to be conducted in accordance with the specific terms and conditions outlined in Grant Agreement No. LPA0038.
The agreement establishes the financial and administrative framework governing the use of state grant funds for the project. The City of Plant City is responsible for executing all project work in compliance with FDEP requirements and grant conditions. This project represents a collaborative environmental initiative combining stormwater management objectives with wetland restoration and recreation enhancement goals. The funding provided through Grant Agreement LPA0038 constitutes partial project funding, with the City of Plant City responsible for securing or providing any additional funds required for full project completion.
