2015-026P14/Devil's Gate Station Cistern Bid Document Intro September 2018
History & Purpose History Colorado has operated the Georgetown Loop Railroad as a historic property since the 1970s. The property is a tourist attraction for Clear Creek County, and brings in visitors from all over that generate County-wide revenue. Water needs at the property include potable water use at the Devil’s Gate Visitor’s Center on the Georgetown side of the railroad. History Colorado uses an existing well to provide water for the restroom at the Visitor’s Center, and is in need of augmenting that use at certain times of year to prevent injury to other water rights on Clear Creek. Storage is needed in the vicinity of the Devil’s Gate Visitor’s Center to meet augmentation needs. History Colorado plans to construct a storage cistern adjacent to the existing Visitor’s Center that will include two (2) 2,000 gallon storage cisterns in a new storage building to be constructed with architecture that is consistent with the existing Visitor’s Center building. The new structure will also house a self-priming centrifugal pump, flow meters, and related plumbing and electrical work. In addition, two parallel 4-inch diameter PVC pipes will run from the new structure to the new headwall located near Clear Creek. Contractor will be responsible for tree removal, sediment and erosion control, and site restoration.
There is a MANDATORY walk through scheduled for Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 10:00AM.
The meeting location is at Devil’s Gate Station/Georgetown Loop Railroad in Georgetown.
