About this file

This is Addendum #1 to a bid solicitation issued by the County of Kenosha, Wisconsin, for the Victim Witness, Juvenile Intake, and District Attorney Relocation and Partial Remodel Project. The project encompasses interior remodeling across three areas: Phase 1 involves a 300-square-foot conference room and vestibule conversion in the Courthouse basement; Phase 2 consists of 1,600 square feet of office space remodeling in the Courthouse basement; Phase 3 covers 2,200 square feet in the Molinaro Building first floor. Work includes new partition walls, flooring, painting, ceilings, millwork, reception areas, and kitchenette installations. The addendum clarifies specifications for bullet-resistant construction in Area 03 only, approved manufacturers for specialized windows and doors, television and data infrastructure requirements, HVAC modifications, and door and glazing specifications across all areas. Bids were due on Thursday, May 28, 2020, by 3:00 PM local time to the Kenosha County Clerk of the Courts. The desired project start was June 2020 with substantial completion targeted for September 15, 2020. Building access is restricted to 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with all loud work required before 8:00 AM to avoid interference with county court operations.

The addendum contains 28 questions and answers addressing design clarifications, material specifications, phasing coordination, and construction logistics. Approved manufacturers include Chicago Bullet Proof Window Systems for bullet-resistant windows and doors in Area 03, and Armortex for additional Level III bullet-resistant components. All non-bullet-resistant glazing must be clear tempered unless otherwise specified. General contractors and subcontractors are responsible for all required city permit fees. The dumpster and construction staging area will be located on the north side of the Molinaro Building parking lot, to be coordinated with the County. The addendum includes a pre-bid sign-in sheet showing attendance from nine construction firms representing general contracting, HVAC, and electrical divisions. No pricing information, set-asides, or funding sources are specified in this addendum document.
