RE: Consistency Cerficaon Concurrence for SAS-2007-01444 for NWP 03:
Repair/Replacement of 500’ Sheet Pile Bulkhead and Anchors/Tiebacks on Downstream Side of Slip #3 and in Savannah River, Hutchinson Island, City of Savannah, Chatham Co.
Dear Ms. Haywood:
Staff of the Georgia Coastal Management Program (GCMP, The Program) has reviewed a March 11, 2024 PCN and May 3, 2024 Provisional Verificaon pursuant to Secon 404 of the Clean Water Act and/or Secon 10 of the River and Harbors Act of 1899 for consistency with GCMP for the above referenced project. The applicant proposes to repair/replace 500 linear feet of exisng sheetpile bulkhead and anchors on the downstream side of Slip #3 and along the Savannah River bank. No impacts to CMPA-jurisdiconal waters/waterbotoms (the Savannah River poron) is proposed and a Revocable License is not required. Repairs along that poron are limited to anchor and/or e back replacement. Construcon within the Slip will start with upland excavaon behind the exisng bulkhead while the bulkhead is in place. New sheetpile will be installed behind the exisng bulkhead before porons (above the mud line) of the exisng bulkhead are removed .
The Program concurs the proposed project has been designed to be consistent with the enforceable policies of the GCMP. Please feel free to contact Kelie Moore or me if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely, Doug Haymans Director
