About this file
This is a Question and Answer Response document for a solicitation (ID: 200000000749) issued by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) regarding wetland planting requirements across two regions: the Grand Region in Ottawa County and the Superior Region in Marquette County. The project involves the planting of shrubs and other vegetation in wetland areas, with shrub species requiring a minimum size of 3-gallon containers. Installation will be conducted using hand-held equipment such augers, with mechanized equipment like skid steers prohibited. The planting window for 2020 is either April 15 to May 31 or October 1 to November 15, with the spring window being preferred as the summer of 2020 would serve as the establishment period. Both Grand Region sites have ample parking and staging areas, while the Superior Region site has limited parking and staging available off US-41. The deadline for submitting bidder questions was extended to February 21, 2020, by 5:00 p.m. EST.
The document does not contain information regarding pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or contract renewal options. Bidders are required to identify known equipment to be used on the LSS (Landscape Schedule Sheet) and will have access to aerial maps provided within the LSS identifying staging areas and planting locations.
